GOAL
The complex permittivity ε* and complex permeability μ* of materials are not only frequency dependent, but are also strongly influenced by the material’s core temperature.
ASTRID Maturation’s GEMT project will bring to the market, by 2024, the first user-friendly and high-precision electromagnetic (EM) measurement system, gathering both a large frequency spectrum (up to 18 GHz) and a large temperature range, up to 400ºC (750ºF). Technology research and development has started in 2016 (Letertre et al, 2019), reaching a promising stage with a fully functional Proof-of-concept. During the next 3 years, GEMT academic researchers and industrials will continue developing this technology, aiming at perfecting the Proof-of-concept and debuting the industrialization of this system. By 2024, the GEMT will be able to introduce the first ever Electromagnetic and Temperature Measuring System for all kinds of materials, from 25ºC to 400ºC.
